Ͽϲͼ and Seminary ranks first in its peer group in several key categories, according to data from this year’s U.S. News Best Colleges rankings.
Data shows TMUS is first among 13 peer Christian universities in the areas of class size, alumni giving and student retention.
The U.S. News rankings, designed to help prospective students and their parents find the best educational fit, listed TMUS as having class sizes of fewer than 20 students 72% of the time. That number is 22 percentage points better than the national average.
TMUS’s freshman-to-sophomore retention rate, an indicator of student satisfaction, was 85% — also best among its peers. So too was its level of alumni giving, with 7% of graduates giving to the school.
Of note, TMUS was characterized as “more selective,” accepting only 67% of applicants, and was also upgraded from a regional to a national institution in 2022.
The rankings come on the heels of The Master’s University welcoming the largest incoming class in school history for the second year in a row. In fall 2021, TMU enrolled 413 new students. That number rose to 440 in 2022, pushing the Christian liberal arts university’s total on-campus enrollment to 1,141.
In all, TMU offers more than 150 programs, ranging from biblical studies to history to computer science. In recent years, the school has added new market-relevant programs in engineering, sport management, entrepreneurial studies and interdisciplinary studies.
The campus has also undergone significant renovations to the dormitories, library, classrooms and student spaces.
Through it all, the school has remained unwavering in its commitment to Christ and Scripture, teaching every class from a biblical worldview and complementing a student’s experience in the classroom with chapel three times each week. In chapel, students sit under the expository preaching of God’s Word from men like TMUS Chancellor John MacArthur and President Abner Chou, along with guests like Paul Washer, Voddie Baucham and Steve Lawson.
